Luke Travers signed a two-way deal with the Cleveland Cavaliersas his agent told ESPN. Travers, who turns 23 next Tuesday, was the 56th overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft. Despite that, he decided to stay in Australia, playing for the Perth Wildcats in 2022-23 and Melbourne United in 2023-24. He finished last season in the NBL with averages of 12.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 26.3 minutes per game. He also played in the Summer League with the Cavs this summer, averaging 7.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.4 blocks per game. With this contract, Travers will earn $578,577 next season, half the rookie minimum. He is entitled to a maximum of 50 NBA games under a two-way contract. As a result, the Australian winger will likely spend a lot of time in the G League with the Cleveland Charge.
