According to “The Athletic” reporter Shams Charania (Shams Charania) broke the news, the free agent market big fish LaVine (Zach LaVine) decided to renew with the Bulls, the two sides signed a maximum salary contract.

“We’re ready for anything to sign Ravin,” Bulls general manager Marc Eversley said in a recent interview. “We’re putting all our energy into keeping him on the team.”

LaVine and the Bulls renewed a 5-year maximum salary contract worth $215.2 million, of which the fifth season is a player option, at which time he has the right to jump out of the contract and enter the free agency market.

In the summer of 2017, LaVine was sent to the Bulls by the Timberwolves and quickly became the face of the team. In the five seasons he played for the Bulls, except for the first season, he averaged 23+ points per game. LaVine played 67 games for the Bulls last season, averaging 24.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 34.7 minutes per game while shooting 47.6 percent from the field.

“The Chicago Bulls are my home and I’m making my mark here,” LaVine said in a phone interview. “I want to continue. I’m super excited. I’m grateful to the fans. I’m ready to continue this winning process.”

Asked how much he believed the Bulls might go further, LaVine responded: “I do 100 percent. Now I’m not afraid of competition, you know.”
