Speaking to MEGA, Tzakri said that she maintains daily contact with Stefanos Kasselakis and made it clear that the former president of SYRIZA neither intends to leave the party nor to create his own.
Theodora Tzakri expressed the desire to see him as a candidate for the presidency of the party and stated that in this case she would “stand by his side”.
As Theodora Tzakri specifically said: “Stefanos Kasselakis has daily communication with a wide circle of people, including MPs. I talk to him every day. Stefanos Kasselakis has not participated in the leak to create a new party. I am able to know. He said it would be posted to members. I will be by his side to become president of SYRIZA again. He will announce his intentions.”
Referring to what happened in the Central Committee, she said that it is unprecedented for an elected president to be deposed on the fly.
“This happened because a small body, the KE with 300 members, decided to cancel the decision of the 150,000 members who voted last year. This is absurd for a statute to provide for. Thus, Mr. Kasselakis made these decisions. But there is something else. This blatant process by which the decision was reached, let me call it an electoral travesty. This happened because the two-faced attitude of some organized groups had to be covered up and because of a bureaucratic perception”.
In relation to Nikos Pappa, he said that it is not a very responsible attitude in a difficult situation, to choose to leave the official opposition party without a head.
“Some close friends of Mr. Pappas are among the signatures on the motion of censure. The factions expelled both Tsipras and Kasselakis. They are both practical and logical. There are some oligarchic groups in SYRIZA, which negotiate their privileges against a central authority in order to have it under its control.
“Because all these incidents are being monitored by the base of SYRIZA, I have to tell you that they understand what has happened. When the time comes for the people to speak, the result will be deafening in favor of Mr. Kasselakis. My position will be in SYRIZA, no matter what.”
