Over the years, different types of relationships have left clandestinity behind, although they are not free of controversy and generate ‘clashes’ between those who prefer ‘old-fashioned’ love. The truth is that concepts like polyamory are already becoming part of an increasingly broad jargon for some people.

On social networks, the content is so varied that sometimes more than two points of view conflict and controversy breaks out among millions of Internet users. Both from a personal and professional perspective, TikTok is one of the platforms that collects numerous videos where what may or may not be understood as relationship and fidelity clash.

There are clips in which users share how they discovered they were the target of infidelity and, in some cases, they never cease to surprise when it is revealed who the ‘third party’ was. On the other hand, there are videos released by psychologists, who show ‘alarm signs’ or how to deal with disloyalty and breakups.

What was your justification?
This was his explanation: “what is not right is not accepting other points of view, not accepting that different things work for people. Why should I go to therapy when I’m happy aspiring to an open relationship? That other people function being monogamous is their problem, not mine,” she stated.
“Why do I have to adapt to someone else’s form or type of relationship when it really doesn’t work for me? (…) Go to therapy when you are in a monogamous relationship and you do not accept being unfaithful (…) and you are just hurting the other person, but when it is an open one in which two have to agree No”.
The woman continued to defend her way of thinking by evoking other types of relationships that many people ‘prefer’ and that does not mean any psychological problem. For her, it is a matter of taste and decision, beyond the opinion of third parties or how many questions she may receive.
Despite her explanation, there were many Internet users who once once more attacked the ‘tiktoker’ and criticized her position. However, there were also those who supported her and claimed to have open relationships without any ‘problems’.
