Echinacea refers to several species of plants, three of which are of medicinal interest: Echinacea angustifolia, E. pallida, and E. purpurea. In the American Great Plains, Native Americans consumed them to relieve respiratory tract infections and snakebites. In my research to write this text, I discovered a huge amount of studies that easily place echinacea at the top of the list of most studied natural medicines. Today, I present to you three of them.
First, in 2021, two groups of children taking either vitamin C or EchinaForce Junior (400 mg) from the company A. Vogel were studied. The researchers wanted to know if echinacea might reduce the incidence of taking antibiotics in cases of respiratory infections and their complications, such as pneumonia, sinusitis, ear infections and even tonsillitis. Over a 4-month period, the number of cold days was significantly lower in the Echinaforce group with a 32% higher prevention rate than the other group. This group then saw 76% fewer cases of complications requiring antibiotics. The conclusion, as published in the European Journal of Medical Research, is that taking echinacea, especially Echinaforce 400mg for children between 4 and 12 years old, will prevent respiratory infections and reduce the need for antibiotics.
Then, in 2015, a study on 6 groups including adults and children showed that echinacea reduced the incidence of respiratory infection by 50% in the most susceptible people (people with a weakened immune system or susceptibility to infections caused by stress, age or general weakness). It was concluded that echinacea presented an effective option for the long-term prevention and treatment of respiratory infections and associated complications. It is therefore an excellent option to choose throughout the season (from autumn to spring).
Finally, a 2014 study was regarding one of my favorite Echinaforce products from A.Vogel; hot drink syrup. I can say that I drank a lot of it and that my clients confirmed its effectiveness in a treatment protocol for colds and flu. In the study in question, the hot drink of Echinaforce was compared to a well-known drug used in the medical treatment of influenza, but which produces undesirable side effects. The latter drug is also available only with a prescription, which reduces the possibility of responding immediately to the onset of symptoms, a key aspect in effective treatment.
Therefore, the hot drink of Echinaforce by A. Vogel offers a treatment as effective as the already known drug, and its accessibility, easy for the public, allows a rapid response to the onset of symptoms. Moreover, this product considered completely safe has no undesirable side effects.
In conclusion, here are three reasons to prepare for the season ahead and stock your medicine cabinet with A.Vogel Echinacea!
