NATO summit in Brussels: update on the disruptions expected between Wednesday and Friday

A meeting of heads of state and government of the European Union will also be held on Thursday, in the presence of the American president. A G7 meeting is also scheduled.

The Brussels-Capital-Ixelles police zone announces the implementation of several security measures which will have an impact on mobility in Brussels for three days, from Wednesday to Friday, it announced in a press release on Saturday.

A parking ban will be put in place in the various security perimeters during these three days. The police will remove all vehicles (including bicycles, mopeds, motorcycles and scooters). In addition, traffic closures will be in place within and around these security perimeters. These include, among others, the surroundings of the NATO site, the American embassy, ​​”The Hotel”, as well as the European district.

Around the NATO site, the A201/avenue Léopold III will be closed all day Wednesday 24, from 6:00 am, in both directions between Ring 0 and the intersection with avenue Bordet.

Around the American Embassy, ​​rue Ducale and the side lane of Boulevard du Régent between rue de la Loi and rue Lambermont will remain closed from Wednesday March 23 at noon until Friday March 25.

On the side of the European district, the usual perimeter set up during a European summit will be closed on Wednesday March 24 in the morning.

Temporary traffic closures are also possible on certain axes, in particular the R0, the E40, the Reyers complex, rue de la Loi, rue Belliard, boulevard de Waterloo, avenue de la Toison d’Or and the small belt on the surface.

Some disruptions are also expected in public transport. Some bus and tram lines will be diverted and some entrances to the Schuman and Arts-Loi metro stations will be closed.
