The foreign ministers of the NATO countries will meet in Brussels on Tuesday (1:30 p.m.) for a two-day meeting. The discussions at the defense alliance’s headquarters will, among other things, focus on the situation in Ukraine and the ongoing preparations for the anniversary summit in Washington next year. The three-day summit in July is intended to celebrate NATO’s 75th anniversary.

The deliberations are being overshadowed by increasing frustration that Turkey has still not given its consent to Sweden’s admission to NATO. Stoltenberg said on Monday in Brussels that he expected that there would be a very clear message on the subject to the Turkish Minister Hakan Fidan at the meeting of foreign ministers. This means that Turkey must complete the ratification process quickly.
