National television suspends three officials for confusion over a speech by President Ouattara – Agence Afrique

Radiodiffusion Télévision Ivoirienne (RTI) sanctioned three of its officials for broadcasting an old speech (from August 6, 2022 issued on the eve of the anniversary of the country’s independence) of President Alassane Ouattara, instead of the New Year’s message of December 31, 2022 which was to be rebroadcast in the 1 p.m. edition of the TV news on January 1 last.

Two minutes into the replay, those officials were able to catch up, but the damage was already done, and the penalties did indeed fall.

“Following the incident on the 1 p.m. television news on January 1, 2023 relating to the rebroadcast of the Head of State’s speech on the occasion of the New Year and pending investigations to locate the responsibilities, the general management decides on the suspension of their post”, of three “line managers”, indicates in a press release, the Director General of the first Ivorian channel.

They are “Ms. Dembélé Habiba Epse Sahouet, director of news bulletins, Mr. Dalla Diabagaté, technical director, Cissé Inssa, director of TV production”, specifies the text.

The press release specifies that “the interims will be ensured by Mr. Koné Lanciné, director of the News Magazines for the direction of the newspapers of information, Mr. Koné Siriki, Director of RTI 1 for the technical directions and that of the TV production “.
