The Directorate of Public Relations at the National Social Security Fund stated, in a statement, that “the recent decisions taken by the Director General of the National Social Security Fund, Dr. Muhammad Karaki, in terms of doubling the medical and hospital tariffs 10 times, as well as the examinations of doctors outside the hospital 20 times, and the keenness to cover the treatment of dialysis patients.” 100 percent, resonated with proud souls and conscientious medical authorities.
The management of the Lebanon Diagnostic Center (LDC) positively received Dr. Karaki’s initiative and, in turn, took a valuable and humanitarian initiative towards the insured in general and the fund’s users in particular, which is as follows:
A 50 percent discount on the bill value for actual and retired fund users and their families.
A 25 percent discount for all insured persons with the fund.
This discount includes all laboratory and radiological work.
A- As for radiography (CT Scan and MRI), these percentages of deductions are applied to the remaining amounts following the coverage of the guarantee in the event that the patient obtains prior approval from him.
In this context, Dr. Karaki extends his thanks to those in charge of this center and calls on all medical and hospital service providers to take similar humanitarian steps and initiatives.
Raef Reda, praising
In a related context, the head of the Lebanese Social Medical Association, representative of the International European Middle Eastern Medical Association in Lebanon, Professor Raef Reda, praised the position of the Director General of the Fund regarding raising doctors’ appointments 20 times within the available capabilities, considering that he fights with live flesh and the capabilities available to facilitate this facility in the service of health and humanity. Especially in these difficult circumstances that the country is going through in general and social security in particular.
Professor Reda also hoped that the doctors would “deal positively and humanely in terms of their profession,” noting that “previously, in good conditions, they benefited from insurance patients, and the latter was not stingy with their rights.”
