The Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress will hold a meeting from the 27th to the 30th of this month, but the official agenda does not involve the interpretation of the Hong Kong National Security Law. Tan Yaozong, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, said that the agenda is decided by the meeting of the chairman of the National People’s Congress, and it is not clear why there is no Hong Kong agenda.

Tan Yaozong also said that it is not clear when the central government will deal with the SAR government’s request for the SAR. In the past, new agendas have been added during meetings, but it is not clear how this time it will be decided by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. He also said that if it is dealt with at the meeting at the end of the month, “this is the best opportunity.”

As for whether there are variables or other methods, Tam Yiu-chung said he is not clear, but believes: “It would be best if Hong Kong can solve it by itself.”
