Bouhabib praised the “creative Lebanese energies that have always formed the mainstay of Lebanon’s steadfastness,” and stressed that “the participation of regarding a quarter of a million Lebanese expatriates around the world in the recent parliamentary elections, and the influential role of their votes, contributed to the introduction of new faces to the Lebanese Parliament,” praising the “achievements of the honorees.” who left a distinct imprint, each in his field.
Then he stressed to the honorees in their words regarding “the feeling of pride in receiving the medal, and the hope that Lebanon will rise once more.” “.
As for the honorees, they are: artist and actor Tony Shalhoub, winner of several Emmy and Golden Globe awards, Dr. Saleh Nsouli, who held senior positions in the International Monetary Fund for 37 years, Dr. Amin Barakat, a specialist in kidney disease who discovered a new disease in his specialty. His name is Dr. George Helou, a NASA expert who specializes in infrared radiation for astronomical discoveries, Dr. Anthony Atallah, the surgeon and biological engineer who created the first 3D biological print, and Dr. Elias James Currie (Khoury), who won the 1990 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
