NNA – Deputy Speaker of Parliament Elias Bou Saab visited the President of the Antonine University, Father Michel Jalakh, to congratulate him on his appointment as Secretary of the Eastern Churches Department in Vatican, The meeting was attended by the two vice-presidents, Father Ziyad Maatouk and Father Jan Al-Alam.

Bou Saab spoke and indicated that he is “proud and proud of Father Jalakh, because of the importance this center holds, not only for Lebanon, but for the region in general.” He said: “Father Jalakh is the first Maronite and Lebanese to hold such a position.”

He believed that “the responsibilities that await Father Jalakh are many, as he is highly qualified and upright.”

He turned to the father, citing the saying: “Whenever we reach a summit, other peaks appear to us,” wishing him “success in his service, and the Antonine University for continuity in its mission.”

For his part, Jalakh thanked Bou Saab for this distinguished visit and his presence in the university’s board of trustees, which has a positive impact on the university and the students.

Examining “the importance of its new position in the Holy See,” he said: “Lebanon has become in the heart of the Vatican, and wherever I go, I will work for its interest and the interest and good of all churches in the region.”

At the end of the visit, Bou Saab toured the university, greeting the students.
