Shour called the forum’s international relations official, Nabil Hallaq, asking him to “communicate with Greek personalities and call them to move to withdraw the ship and support the Lebanese people, who have the closest ties with the Greek people.”
In the context, according to a statement, Hallaq contacted the former Greek Defense Minister Costas Asikhos, the former Greek Finance Minister Nadia Valvani and Arikos Vinalis, Dr. International Law Adviser Yannis Rakhotis, the Vice President of the Greek Democratic Bar Association, Dr. Alexandra Zorbala, and a group of activists and press and media figures. And “everyone and each within his competence expressed to act immediately in direct and indirect contact with the head of the Greek government and the competent minister in the government and the relevant institutions, and demanded the withdrawal of the ship from the Lebanese territorial and economic waters and from the disputed Karish field area.”
The statement pointed out that “all the Greek personalities expressed their full solidarity with Lebanon and its rights, sovereignty and wealth, and the jurists supported their efforts to file legal cases against the company and its owners.”
