NNA – The head of the Lebanese Press Editors Syndicate, Joseph Al-Qusifi, in the presence of the Syndicate Council member Salah Taqi Al-Din, received a delegation from the “National Media Gathering”, which included: Samir Al-Hassan, Dr. Ali Hamieh, Hussein Ezz Al-Din, Mubarak Beydoun, and Younis Odeh.

During the meeting, the meeting’s delegation thanked Captain Al-Qusifi for “the role played by the Syndicate at the professional level and its constant defense of press and media freedoms, and its call to abide by the rules and refrain from prosecuting any journalist and media person for a publishing violation, except before the Publications Court.” He praised “the captain’s response to the meeting’s invitation to participate in the activities that he revives.”

The delegation confirmed that the “national media gathering” includes independent journalists and media professionals. And from various directions, and it is neither a union nor an association, but it is a grouping of purely national goals over which two Lebanese do not disagree, the most prominent of which are: Lebanon’s sovereignty and independence, Lebanon’s right to its wealth, and the right of its children to defend its land by all means in the face of any aggression, especially by the entity. Zionism, standing by the Palestinian cause, and the right of return.

The delegation also stressed that it “respects the Lebanese laws and the professional syndicates organized under Lebanese law, and considers the Editors Syndicate the umbrella that should include all workers in the profession, and the need to strengthen it so that it can perform the role assigned to it in protecting journalists and media professionals, preserving freedom and confronting anyone who tries to undermine it.” .

The delegation stressed “the reference of the Lebanese Press Editors Syndicate and the need to work to strengthen it, and it will always be on its side, especially since there are many common national points with which it unites.”

Captain Al-Qasifi thanked the delegation of the “National Media Gathering” for its visit, noting “the activities that it has undertaken and is doing to support Lebanon and its legitimate rights in its land and water, and its free and independent decision, which are non-categorical activities because they present university titles related to the interests of the Lebanese to any group they belong to.”

He said: “The Lebanese Press Editors Syndicate has been on the side of the Palestinian cause since its establishment, and there are documents in its records that prove the role it played in this regard since the mandate of the late Captains Wafik Tibi and Melhem Karam. The Syndicate supports the right of return and rejects settlement. his rights in full, and that his water and oil wealth be his right in which no party can dispute it, and that the United Nations, which sponsors peace in southern Lebanon, and which surrounds all files, should stand by these rights, especially since international resolutions issued since 1949 until today prove these rights “.

Al-Qusaifi concluded: “The Syndicate opens its doors to all female colleagues and calls for a constructive and comprehensive dialogue, in order to reach common convictions and crystallize the national role that journalists and media professionals must play in these exceptional circumstances.”
