NNA – Jounieh – On the anniversary of the martyrs of the Lebanese resistance and the town’s martyrs in the Lebanese war, the center of the town of Qartaba in the “Lebanese Forces” party held a mass for the comfort of themselves in the monastery of Mar Sarkis and Bacchus in Qartaba.
The Divine Sacrifice was presided over by Father Rabie Al-Baini, in the presence of a member of the “Strong Republic” bloc, Representative Ziad Al-Hawat, President of the Union of Byblos District Municipalities, Mayor of Qartaba, Fadi Martinos, Head of the Martyrs, Prisoners and Injured Authority in the “Forces” Charbel Abi Akl, Coordinator of Jbeil District in the “Forces” Hadi Merhej, head of the Qardaba Center in the “forces” Rouhana Karam, Judge Saqr Saqr, director of Qartaba Governmental Hospital Ebad Al-Sukhon, President of the Cordoba Charitable Society Zeina Rouhana Saqr, President of the Cultural, Social and Sports Club in Qartaba George Karam, retired Brigadier General Michel Karam, and a crowd of Cordoba’s political and party activities, the people of the martyrs, and the families of the martyrs of the explosion of the port of Beirut.
Father Al-Baini gave a sermon in which he stressed that “the martyrs were the righteous soil that has yielded hundreds of times what it was today,” and said: “We gathered today to pray for the martyrs of the Lebanese resistance and the martyrs of the town of Qartaba, who were martyred for the cause of dignity, steadfastness, the protection of Lebanon and the Christian existence. And the story began since The year 1975 and before this date, they were martyred in defense of Lebanon and the free Christian existence and in defense of the Lebanese state and its institutions.
He stressed, “We will not forget our living martyrs, and this march continues to this day, but in a different way, and today we pray for them, their families, and us, because if they were not martyred, we would not remain. The Lord created us in his image free, and we have all honor and glory from God.”

After the mass, Representative Al-Hawat delivered a speech in which he stressed that “he who sows heroes must reap dignity, vigor and a state worthy of its martyrs,” pointing out that “the martyrs of the Lebanese resistance, so that Lebanon remains a free and independent master, and the flag remains fluttering in the mountain peaks of the Lebanese villages and towns, so that we remain firm in our land, There is a basic and pivotal entitlement to build a strong state, and I promise the martyrs that we will spare no effort, in order to build a new state and elect a President of the Republic who resembles the martyrs, gathers all the Lebanese, affirms Lebanon’s neutrality and sovereignty, and rebuilds institutions under the roof of the judiciary and the law that are far from it today.
He addressed the issue of the martyrs of the Beirut port explosion, and stressed, “We, as a bloc of the strong republic, called from the first moment for an international fact-finding committee, because we knew from the beginning that the Lebanese judiciary was politicized and they would prevent it from working, as we saw with Judge Fadi Bitar and before him Judge Fadi Sawan, who put obstacles to him because Knowing the truth,” he pointed out, “We have presented as a bloc for the strong republic and as the Lebanese forces with many laws and proposals for laws, the latest of which is in cooperation with lawyer Fadi Rouhana Saqr, in order to liberate the judge and to rule with justice. The port and our children are finished, and this is the duty of the new president of the republic and the new authority to spread the character of all the Lebanese because it is not the cause of the martyrs’ families alone, but our cause, our dignity and all our pride, and the martyrs are the martyrs of all Lebanon and the town of Qartaba has the largest share in this great pain that has occurred.
Al-Hawat touched on the issue of determining the area of land in Lhasa, and stressed that “nothing protects us in our towns and villages except the judiciary and the law. And not to politicize, for the judiciary protects everyone and we are all under the roof of the judiciary, and we put our hand in the hands of everyone who is under the judiciary.” He stressed, “We will not submit to settlements, quotas and bullying, and we do not meet with anyone who wants to politicize this issue. coexistence, but under the roof of the judiciary, law and legitimacy, and under this roof we are all equal in rights and duties.”
He concluded: “We have a great duty to meet with all those who are like these martyrs, to be one heart and hand, and to stay away from petty matters, trifles and selfishness, in order to build a homeland in which we can stay with our children, because the martyrs did not fall in order to abandon our children, but rather to take root in this land. And for the Lebanese flag to remain hovered over our towns and villages.
