“The importance of protecting and managing water wisely must also be understood as a preventive measure to face increasingly complex future challenges,” said Coordinating Minister Luhut in a statement in Jakarta, Tuesday (15/10).

Luhut emphasized that proactive water policies and management are needed, so as to minimize the risk of water-related disasters, increase environmental resilience, and empower communities to play an active role in maintaining the sustainability of water resources.

Therefore, the plenary session produced four Recommendations on Strategic Issues and Actual Water Resources Issues, including (1) Alternative Financing for Development & Sustainable Management of Natural Resources Infrastructure, (2) One Basic Drinking Water Tariff, (3) Conservation & Utilization of Natural Resources in the Area Peat, and (4) Development of Alternative Solar Energy in Water Bodies (reservoirs, lakes, other water bodies) and Beaches.
