National League: SC Bern wins against HC Davos 3:2

A liberation for the SCB. After four bankruptcies in a row, the Bernese in Davos “churned” to win in overtime. They are important points to maintain the connection to the direct playoff places.

An energy attack from Scherwey in the power play serves as the initial spark. He is sent on his way by Goloubef on his own blue line, powers through the Davos defense and scores for a 1-0 lead.

HCD top scorer Corvi will say on MySports during the break that “we feel like we’re in the batter in every game. But we always come back, that’s the character of the team.” The Grisons need 65 seconds to equalize. This 1-1 comes at a bitter time for Bern, four seconds before the break.

A similarly rapid reaction from Davos would have been possible just minutes later when the next deficit came up. But Bristedt – otherwise quite an art shooter – forgives the penalty caused by Vermin. The Swede makes up for the missed chance. With his 2:2 he saves the HCD in overtime.

Bristedt still has the chance to score the winning goal there, but SCB goalie Wüthrich prevents defeat with a strong save. In return, Untersander meets to win.

Twice as bitter for HCD: Davos lost defender Nygren in the final minute of the middle period. The Swede tilts without opposition and may have injured his lower leg. This absence puts the signing of Jules Sturny (from the Tigers) on the back burner. (NA)
