  • The SCB wins comfortably away from league bottom team Ajoie 5-0.
  • The SCL Tigers also win – but they need overtime against Lugano.
  • EHC Biel lost in the shootout away in Lausanne.

SCB can still win! The Mutzen string together their second shutout win in the National League. The 4-0 win against Ambri-Piotta was followed by a 5-0 away win at league bottom team Ajoie. Meanwhile, EHC Biel loses in a penalty shootout in Lausanne, while the SCL Tigers celebrate an overtime win against Lugano.

SC Bern is a bit too big for Ajoie

SC Bern laid the foundation for a confident away win in the starting third. Patrik Nemeth makes it 1-0 after just under eight minutes. Four minutes later, Romain Loeffel increased the score to 2-0 for the Mutzen. And right after the start of the middle third, Marco Lehmann scored Bern’s third goal.

SC Bern then used its first power play situation of the evening to make it 4-0. Jannik Fischer has to go to the penalty box for two minutes for holding on. Shortly before the majority expires, Marc Marchon sets the course for a clear away win. And Austin Czarnik scored just 50 seconds after the restart in the final period to make the final score 5-0.

SCL Tigers narrowly defeat Lugano

The Ticino team started the game with an early lead. Mark Arcobello scores the goal to make it 1-0 after 5:27 minutes. This is also the interim result after the first third. One and a half minutes after the restart, the Luganesi celebrate again – but Joly’s goal is canceled after video evidence.

After a hard-fought second period with few goals, things got exciting again in the final phase: Langnau looked for the equalizer and found it, Flavio Dirt scored after 7:21 minutes in the third period to make it 1-1. In overtime, Vili Saarijärvi scored to give the Tigers a 2-1 home win.

A last-minute goal is not enough for EHC Biel

In Lausanne too, it didn’t take long until the opening goal – but here it was for the home team. Antti Suomela makes it 1-0 after just under six minutes. This lead should last until the final minute – but not long enough: 18 seconds before the final siren, Lias Andersson equalized to make it 1-1.

Overtime does not bring a decision; the winner is determined in a penalty shootout. There the Vaudois have the better nerves, Rochette and Oksanen meet. At least the Zealanders save a point with the late equalizer.
