Elements of the National Guard carried out, this Wednesday, June 14, a demonstration exercise of the technical and operational and fire capacity they have to deal with crime in the country.
The foregoing during the Final Exercise of the Fourth and Fifth Phases of Training, at the National Training Center in Santa Gertrudis, Chihuahua, in which 1,200 national guards participated.
The staff carried out the public safety exercise (developed in a simulated town called La Cofradía), where two high risk situations: an attack on a barracks, and the capture of a member of organized crime.
For the demonstration, real handmade armored vehicles were used for the first time, known as “monsters” which were secured to organized crime in different entities.
From these vehicles, the elements that pretended to be members of organized crime, fired at members of the National Guard who repelled the aggression until subdue the aggressors.
From the loudspeakers, a high command of the National Guard was heard narrating each step of the exercise, emphasizing the order to all personnel, to always act in accordance with respect for Human Rights.
Emphasis was also placed on the use of firearms in a proportional and progressive manner, according to the level of aggression received by the elements.
It was the personnel of the Special Reaction and Intervention Force of the National Guard (FERI), identified by their tactical uniforms and high-powered weapons, who intervened in a house to simulate the arrest of a criminal.
There, they set off smoke bombs and secured the target that generated violence in the town.
The transfer of the detainee was completed despite the shots that National Guard elements received from different points and with the support of a official armored vehiclein addition to an MI-17 helicopter.
The aircraft rose in the middle of a dust storm to get lost in the sky of Chihuahua.
For the final part, over the simulated town of La Cofradía, the residents greeted the passage of three National Guard helicopters, one of them with the detainee, who was flying escorted by two Black Hawk helicopters armed with guns.
