The national day for safety in schools aims to remember the victims of accidents that occurred in Italian schools and to promote, enhance and share the activities and initiatives carried out by schools on the topics of safety and risk prevention. The Day was established by law 13 July 2015, n. 107 and set for 22 November of each year by the decree of the Minister of Education, University and Research of 27 November 2015 n. 914. These are the words of Minister Giuseppe Valditara for the anniversary: “On the National Day for Safety in Schools, my moved thoughts go to the victims of accidents in school buildings. Today we renew our commitment to ensuring safe and welcoming school environments, where students can grow and learn in peace. Safety is an absolute priority and requires collective action: investing in adequate structures, raising awareness of the importance of prevention and promoting a culture of responsibility are fundamental steps. With PNRR funds and ministerial funds we are renovating and securing almost 20% of Italian school assets. A safe school is a school that looks to the future.”
