180 events are planned throughout France for this 3rd day led by the Foundation.

On November 23, 2023, the Abbé Pierre Foundation and 24 organizations are organizing the 3rd national day to combat fuel poverty.

This year, recent market price increases and inflation have put many new homes in difficulty. Today, 3,558,000 French people are victims. In 2022, nearly 22% of households reported having suffered from the cold at home, i.e. 8% more than in 2019.

Despite legislative progress, fuel poverty is a phenomenon that continues to grow; 12 million people suffer from it daily, summer and winter.

If the renovation dynamic is progressing, it nevertheless remains insufficient: out of 30 million main residences as of January 1, 2022, around 5.2 million would be thermal sieves (labeled F or G of the DPE).

Paris, Besançon, Strasbourg… During this 3rd national day, 180 events will take place throughout France; the Abbé Pierre Foundation will speak in Paris, Montpellier and Lille. A meeting of the working group on the implementation of the ban on the rental of thermal strainers will also take place in Paris, at the initiative of the Ministry of Housing.

Zero out-of-pocket costs for energy renovation projects for households in energy poverty, the end of power cuts of which 157,000 households in energy poverty are still victims each year, the tripling of energy checks for the 30% of households with the highest modest… Many demands will be recalled during this day.
