On Friday followingnoon, at the end of its third session of the plenary week, the National Council said goodbye to the summer break, but not all of it. The Social Committee will also meet over the summer, if it is convened at all.

Actually, the initiative initially came from the SPÖ, which wanted to continue working in several committees (social affairs, buildings, economy, finance) to implement concepts once morest inflation. The coalition did not join it, but submitted its own proposal that the social committee should not be given a break. The SPÖ and FPÖ then joined. The Freedom Party also wanted to allow the Interior Committee to continue meeting, but like the Social Democrats, all their attempts were unsuccessful. Only the SPÖ and FPÖ agreed.

The Federal Council has not yet had time to rest. The state chamber will meet next Wednesday and Thursday to discuss this week’s resolutions of the National Council.

The National Council has its next scheduled plenary session on September 20th. The conference itself begins on September 12th. In the days that followed, the first committee meetings took place.
