National Council election: The big exchange of blows in Salzburg

On Tuesday, the Salzburg State Theatre will be the stage for a special format. At the “Great Exchange of Blows”, the leading candidates of the parliamentary parties for the National Council elections will be discussing at the invitation of the state newspapers – OÖN, Salzburger Nachrichten, Tiroler Tageszeitung, Vorarlberger Nachrichten and Kleine Zeitung – and the “Presse” from 4 p.m.

Chancellor Karl Nehammer (VP), Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens), SP leader Andreas Babler, FP leader Herbert Kickl and Neos leader Beate Meinl-Reisinger will take part in the discussion – for the first time in this formation in this election debate. Susanne Dickstein (editor-in-chief of OÖN) and Manfred Perterer (editor-in-chief of the Salzburger Nachrichten) will be the moderators. An analysis will follow.

Numerous confrontations

The event will be streamed on , and the format will also be broadcast live by ORF III. (Repeats of the program are planned for 9:05 p.m. and 10:50 p.m.)

The discussion opens the series of TV confrontations in the last weeks before the National Council elections on September 29. The ORF will start its two-way duel rounds on September 5, and such rounds will be shown on ATV, Puls 24 and the Joyn platform from September 8.

The top candidates of the four small parties that are running across Austria and are not represented in the National Council will have the opportunity to discuss in a special edition of “Im Zentrum” on September 8th. On September 22nd, Joyn, ATV, Puls 4 and Puls 24 will broadcast an elephant round with the top candidates of the parliamentary parties in cooperation with the Kronen Zeitung, and there will also be one on September 19th on Servus-TV. The conclusion of the elephant round of discussions will be on September 26th on ORF.
