The National Cancer Institute and Health Insurance want to “work harder” to improve the detection of breast, colorectal and cervical cancers. While too few French people are being screened, the two organizations are calling for “general mobilization” to screen more and reduce the growing burden of cancer, the leading cause of death in France.
However, three national screening programs exist for breast cancer (mammography and clinical examination every two years for women aged 50 to 74), cervical cancer (women aged 25 to 65, different screening before and following 30 years) and colorectal (fecal occult blood test every two years for men and women aged 50 to 74). But if the French largely support the principle, they are too reluctant to take action despite the invitations received, according to the institutions.
Are you concerned by breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screening campaigns? Are you getting tested? Everytime ? If not, for what reasons? Is it because you don’t have the time, because you live too far from a health center, because you didn’t know regarding it, because you don’t want to? In this case, why? Is there another reason why you are not getting tested?
You can testify in the form below. Your testimonies will be used to write an article. Thanks in advance.
