Something unprecedented is happening at the Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB). The General Council, the OeNB’s control body, has no head: the posts of President and Deputy President are vacant. On August 31, the mandates of Chamber of Commerce chief Harald Mahrer (ÖVP) as OeNB president and of his deputy Barbara Kolm (FPÖ) as vice president expired.
