The Partido de La Costa will host for the fifth time in a row the 10th General Medicine and Health Team Congress which, on this occasion, will be held around the theme “Experiences in the field of health: the power of PHC in integration”.
Organized by the Association of General Medicine of the Province of Buenos Aires (AMGBA) together with the Municipality of La Costa and the Movement for the Health of the Peoples, from the administration of Mayor Cristian Cardozo, important work is being carried out to position the Party of La Costa as a venue for events, congresses and conventions.
Throughout the four days, training will be developed on topics related to the daily work of health teams. Within this framework, there will be more than 20 training scenarios focused on areas such as mental health, chronic diseases, food sovereignty and health management, among others.
Meanwhile, the three central tables for critical discussion will include the participation of national and Latin American leaders, such as Dr. Román Rafael Vega Romero from Colombia, who will speak on the theme “Integration of the health system: the power of PHC” ; Dr. Mariluz Martín, who will offer the talk “Viditances of the right to health: from saying to doing for the integration of the system”; and there will also be the participation of Dr. Vivian Camacho Hinojosa from Bolivia.
In addition, it was detailed that on Thursday 15, at 12:00, the central table will be held “Powerful experiences in the field of health: the power of community participation” with the participation of professionals from different areas: Emilce Rodríguez, militant of collective, community and popular health; Florencia Nejamkin, Sociologist, coordinator of workshops for the Mamá Cultiva Civil Association; Marisa Lapun, Bachelor of Social Work, founding member of the Red Argentina Casa de Partos; Marcos Filardi, Human Rights and Food Sovereignty Lawyer; under the coordination of Carlos Muggeri, General Physician.
On the other hand, reports of experiences and posters made by health teams will be presented at the Congress, which will be evaluated for the delivery of the Floreal Ferrara Award for the best community health work.
To submit a paper, at least one of the authors must be registered at the congress. The delivery deadline is Tuesday, August 30.
