Nathalie Marquay Pernaut breaks the silence during the TF1 news: “We were so excited to be an old couple”

Jean-Pierre Pernaut died on Wednesday March 2, 2022 at the age of 71. The presenter suffered from lung cancer. Leaving behind him her four children, born of two unions. But also, his wife, the former Miss France, Nathalie Marquay.

The day following her disappearance, Nathalie Marquay Pernaut came out of silence by giving an interview to TF1. She paid tribute to her husband. “He was always strong, he always fought for his family, he didn’t want to let go. Oyes, he was tired, how many times I yelled at him, I told him, you have to rest”.

“He did not want, at the start, to retire. I said, but yes, I want you to take advantage of us, the children are grown up, I want us to travel too”, she continues.

“We were looking forward to being together, to be able to make an old couplelike everyone else, but Jean-Pierre was not like everyone else”, she concluded.
