Nathalie had been teaching at the school for 10 years, she was killed in a tragic road accident

On Tuesday, a tank truck was driving in the R40 ring towards Dampoort, when it missed its turn at Stapelplein, hurtled through the parking lot of the Handelsdokcentrum office building and crashed into the building’s entrance .

The truck hit a car and a cyclist on a pedestrian crossing. The victim was also driving towards the Stapelplein, then crossed the road towards the Bataviabrug. She died at the scene from her injuries. The cyclist killed in the accident was 44 years old and lived in Wondelgem. This is Nathalie Lacave, a teacher for 10 years at Collège Saint-Jean.

On social networks, the school pays tribute to him: “Improbable, unreal and unfair. Words can hardly describe our feeling when we heard the news that our colleague Nathalie Lacave died in a traffic accident”. We learn that “in addition to teaching French and English, she was also a helpful teacher and notably devoted herself to third-party ski trips”.

“We remember her as a spontaneous and smiling colleague. Our thoughts are with her husband and children, family, friends and everyone she knew,” the College concludes on its Facebook page.
