The Secretary of State in charge of priority education Nathalie Elimas is leaving the government, the Elysée announced in a press release on Saturday evening March 5. Mme Elimas had been the subject of an administrative investigation since January, following being accused of moral harassment by collaborators within his cabinet.

The Ministry of National Education had confirmed to Agence France-Presse (AFP), on January 15, an administrative investigation in progress “on the human resources functioning of the cabinet of Mme Elimas ». Questioned by AFP when this administrative procedure was revealed, several of her collaborators had declared that this human resources specialist was accused of acts of ” harassment “ but also of “abuse” towards half a dozen subordinates.

One of them mentioned “many sick leaves” and “employee departures”. Another person who worked at the firm described an issue of harassment “generalized”. A third person recounted his ” descent into hell “emphasizing the many “tantrums”, on the part of the one who was a deputy for Val-d’Oise until her arrival in government, targeting her collaborators, especially during meetings. Nor Mme Elimas, nor his cabinet had then commented on the opening of this administrative investigation.

Jacqueline Gourault also leaves the government

The Minister of Territorial Cohesion and Relations with Local Authorities, Jacqueline Gourault, is also leaving her post for a completely different reason: proposed by Emmanuel Macron to sit on the Constitutional Council, the former senator was confirmed by the National Assembly. and the Senate, at the end of February, and will join the institution on rue Montpensier on Monday.

Mme Gourault, 71, is replaced in her post by Joël Giraud, until now Secretary of State in charge of rurality within her ministry. The member of the Radical Left Party, re-elected in 2017 under the majority label, will be responsible for Nadia Hai, Minister Delegate in charge of the city, as well as Cédric O, Secretary of State in charge of digital, also under the supervision of Bercy.
