AWe have assumed that rev is the path to ego. As material knowledge increases, humility decreases and ego increases. The higher the ego, the lower the pleasure. But the truth is that true knowledge can make us humble, unselfish and meek. Knowledge enabled the Guru to define the living being as the gracious one. It is that knowledge that has poured over the social drought of an era. History is witness to this.

Guru’s dear friend Dr. Natarajaguru was Palpu’s beloved son who later became the guru’s favorite disciple. With Guru’s blessings, Guru Nataraja was able to go abroad to study, conduct research, scientifically look at Guru’s philosophy and learn and copy it for the future.

Natarajaguru is the Mahameru of both types of knowledge. It is still possible to gaze in wonder from its valley to its height. It is true that he said in Guruvarul that only if one understands the background of a guru’s personality, but also the background of the philosophy he preaches, one can usefully discover and follow the lines of thought of that guru. But Natarajaguru is the foremost among the rare disciples who have found such a Guru.

I am someone who was fortunate enough to experience the love and affection of Guru Nithya Chaitanya, a disciple of Nataraja Guru. I consider it an innate gift. Although not the same, the moment of inspiration that can be experienced from Natarajaguru is represented here.

This memoir is almost six decades old. That’s why you won’t see much brightness. My childhood was paralyzed by polio when I was two and a half years old. He started pitching once more following the age of six. Therefore, schooling started in the third grade. He reached the third class only by writing the annual exam. He studied at a school named following Ramanandaswamy in Coorkancheri.

Named following Sri Narayanaguru, S.N. I remember that there was a function held in the high school, where the children were holding plates to receive Natarajaguru as a guest. Even though I was a person who would fall if a good wind blew, I was not ready then and now to admit that I was disabled.

I was standing first among the talakas by my stubbornness and by the mercy of the teachers. The mind was full of wonder that some great person was coming. He had no idea who it was. When he came, he was a big man! A big guy with gray beard, head and big belly! It was suggested that the talaks should walk along with him, scattering flowers.

When Natarajaguru and other guests started walking, I, the talakari, also started walking. The teacher stopped me, ‘No, you will fall. You just stay here.’ Hearing this, I cried out loud. Natarajaguru looked back and asked why. After knowing the reason, he turned and came to me. A pat on the head. Then he picked me up and started walking. I sat next to that big belly and chest.

Natarajaguru took me to the venue. All the children were walking behind, scattering flowers. I remember sitting in Guru’s hand and spreading the flowers from the plate in front of me. As he approached the stage, he held me down. A pat on the forehead. I can’t remember now what was in my childish mind.

In old age, when this memory dusts off the dust, one thinks once more and once more that it will melt like this from knowledge. As an adult, I came to know that gravity is the greatest gain when time took me away from the literary ways and followed the ways of Sree Narayanaguru. I have read most of Natarajaguru’s books. The truth is that I have tried to read.

I have to painfully admit that even today that forest of knowledge, where both philosophy and science are spread, remains impregnable to me. Natarajaguru became a master of knowledge when he added rare knowledge from the heavy collections of the Musigume in Paris and the Institut de Civilization Indien in Sorbonne, the experiences imparted to the Guru by Paris Sarvakalashala, and the subjects like psychology, philosophy, and Assyrian studies that attracted the Guru to the Guru’s vision! But even today, I realize with great joy that the heart that felt compassion for a small disabled child was even bigger.
