The path to the top of the sport
Natalya began her journey in figure skating as a child, trying to improve her health. Her first mentors were Anatoly Eremin and Antonina Kartseva, thanks to whom she launched her successful sports career. In 1963, Natalya became the champion of the RSFSR in single skating, and the following year she won silver in pair skating.
From athlete to coach
After completing her sports career, Dubinskaya devoted herself to coaching. She graduated from the Malakhovsky branch of the Smolensk State Institute of Physical Education, as well as GITIS, where she received not only professional skills, but also strengthened her character.
Natalya took her first steps in coaching in Elektrostal, where she was able to establish herself as a highly qualified specialist. Working first on open ice, she showed remarkable endurance and perseverance, which allowed her to move on to working in more comfortable conditions.
Raising Champions
At the regional Dynamo, under her leadership, many students achieved success at various levels of competition. Among her most famous students were Ilya Averbukh, Irina Lobacheva and Nikolai Morozov. Natalya Petrovna not only trained athletes, but also observed the working methods of experienced colleagues, always striving for self-improvement.

Dubinskaya was distinguished by her non-standard approach to the training process. She worked with two groups of skaters at Crystal, where they had the opportunity to use both a large field for general practice and a smaller rink for ice ballet. This period became one of the most exciting and successful in her career.
Dubinskaya admitted that patience is a key quality for a coach. She taught her students not only the technique of figure skating, but also the ability to overcome difficulties, maintain the desire for a goal and start over, despite fatigue and resentment.
Contribution to the development of figure skating
Dubinskaya’s work at the Lokomotiv stadium and at the AZLK ice palace brought her recognition as the senior coach of the Youth Sports School of the Ministry of Railways. Its athletes regularly competed for the national team, which confirmed its high level of professionalism.
Dubinskaya left behind a galaxy of outstanding coaches who continue to develop figure skating in Russia. Her son Denis Samokhin also followed in his mother’s footsteps and became a figure skating coach.
