In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Natalie Portman is optimistic regarding whether she will return to a Marvel movie in the future. Portman praised director Taika Waititi’s idea of ignoring any rules a comic book movie should have, especially the flexibility he gave to Jane’s character. She noted that her interpretation of the hero is largely “an interpretation of a feminist role.”

As for where Portman might play the role of God of Thunder in the future, she said she would be willing to return to reprise the role if the right opportunity arises.
“I’m open to anything. It’s a really cool character and I think anything is possible.”
In director Waititi’s opinion, Jane Foster’s role will not replace Hemsworth’s Thor.
“I think a lot of fans think it’s the passing of the torch, and I don’t understand Marvel’s plans for the future, but I don’t think that’s the case.”
