The city of Natal was selected by the Travellers’ Choice 2023 Best of the Best award as one of the hottest destinations in South America. The capital of Rio Grande do Norte occupies the 4th position on the list of the specialized travel portal TripAdvisor, which uses reviews from travelers around the world as an evaluation criterion. In addition to Natal, Rio de Janeiro, Foz do Iguaçu and Gramado also appear on the list. That is, the Potiguar capital is the only representative of the Brazilian Northeast in the category.
According to the Agora RN newspaper and a survey carried out by the Hurb portal, Rio Grande do Norte must be the most sought following destination by Brazilian travelers. For Gabriela Armstrong, head of Growth do Hurb, tourists who seek the RN are looking for rest and leisure. Still according to the respective survey, more and more people are giving preference to All Inclusive hotels. For Patrícia Souza, reservation assistant at the Esmeralda Praia Hotel, located on Ponta Negra beach in Natal, the main tourist profile that the state attracts are “families looking for a destination where they can rest and have fun at the same time”.
In addition to Natal, beaches in other municipalities in the state were also awarded in other categories of the Travellers’ Choice 2023 award, such as Baía dos Golfinhos, in Praia da Pipa, in Tibau do Sul, and Genipabu beach, located in Extremoz, in Great Christmas. The portal selected the 10 best beaches in South America evaluated by users of the TripAdvisor portal. Together, the Potiguar beaches selected for the award add up to more than 11,000 evaluations.
