Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president of PSG: “We are no longer welcome at the Parc des Princes”

“We are no longer welcome at the Parc des Princes,” said the Qatari leader. “They are pressuring us to leave,” he said once more, “they are playing with us and we are tired.”

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi reiterated that PSG was therefore studying “other alternatives”.

“I love the Parc des Princes, it’s our history and I respect it more than anything. Staying has always been our preference. But I don’t think they want us. We’ve invested eighty million euros in the stadium. But it is not ours. Who would agree to do such a thing? “Continued the president of PSG.

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi had already complained last week in the press of the Paris City Hall’s refusal to sell the Park (48,000 places) to QSI (Qatar Sports Investments), owner of the club.

Opposite, the left-wing municipality had retorted that the club had a 30-year lease but that the investment in infrastructure and the maintenance of the stadium did not necessarily go hand in hand with a takeover.

“They (the PSG) say: we inject 500 or 600 million (euros) of works only if we are owners. We, it is not our first inclination to sell them the Parc des Princes. It is the heritage of the city, of Parisians”, had thus argued last Thursday Emmanuel Grégoire, first deputy to the town hall of Paris.

“Discussions are underway around the sale and we told them: before even knowing if we want to sell, we would have to agree on a price. Today, we have not yet reached the end of these discussions” , had continued the elected Parisian denouncing “a stroke of pressure” from PSG.
