Nassanin Zagari Radcliffe, who was imprisoned in Iran on charges of espionage, has been allowed to return to his native Britain. He was released after serving six years in prison. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that the ongoing diplomatic efforts since Nassau’s imprisonment in 2016 have finally met with success. Nassanin, a charity activist, was detained by the Iranian government in 2016 for allegedly protesting against the 2009 general election results and giving an interview to the BBC as a move against the country. She has worked as a project manager for the Thomson Archyde.com Foundation, a charity, and has collaborated with a number of other charities.
The government has accused Nassanil of trying to leak documents related to the Iranian government and plotting to destabilize the government. But Nassan’s family and Britain have argued that the allegations are untrue. Nassanin arrived in Iran in 2016 to spend time with his family in Iran. They later led charitable activities in Iran.
