Nasrallah said, in a televised speech, “Our eyes and missiles are on the Karish field (in the disputed maritime border area),” adding, “We are monitoring the course of negotiations to demarcate the maritime borders” between Lebanon and Israel.
He added, “We sent a message away from the media that we are facing a problem if the extraction of gas from the Karish field begins.”
And in early June, Israel brought to the Karish field ships belonging to the Greek-British “Energean” company dedicated to extracting gas, which aroused the objection of the Lebanese government.
And last week, the company announced, in a statement, the postponement of gas extraction from the oil field adjacent to the Lebanese border, for several weeks, without explaining the reasons for this.
Nasrallah also stated, “We cannot allow the extraction of oil and gas from the Karish field before Lebanon obtains its rightful demands.”
Yesterday, Friday, the Israeli TV channel “13” reported that the American mediator, Amos HochsteinIn the coming days, he will transmit to Lebanon a “final proposal” on Demarcation of the border Navy.
The channel quoted Israeli officials as saying that Hochstein will convey the “final solution proposal”, following the Israeli occupation’s decision to begin, within a few days, the implementation of the next phase of exploiting the field.KarishIts ownership is disputed with Lebanon.
Yesterday, Friday, the Israeli Ministry of Energy announced that it was “preparing to connect the Karish field reservoir with the Israeli system.”
According to the channel, the officials added that the next stage does not include starting to extract gas from the field.
The channel considered that the Israeli officials, through this redress, are interested in sending a message to “Hezbollah”, to persuade it not to create tensions.
