The astronauts, Josh Cassada and Frank Rubio, installed the “EROSA” solar array outside the station, following working for regarding 7 hours in space, according to a statement from “NASA”.

During their mission, Casada and Rubio disconnected a cable that allowed the Energy Conduit to be restored to 75 percent of its operational capacity.

The International Space Station received the new solar array modules, “EROSA”, on November 27, which were loaded on board the “Dragon” spacecraft.

NASA is currently upgrading the solar power system aboard the International Space Station, since the efficiency of the original solar arrays has decreased over the years.

The cost of modernizing the solar energy system is estimated at $103 million, and the new system will be able to generate 215 kilowatts of electricity.
