After the launch of an application that helps you see the International Space Station in the sky, the United States National Aeronautics and Space Agency, better known by its acronym NASAhas now brought another new feature: it is the NASA+a free, ad-free video streaming service with original content regarding space, rockets and the like that can be accessed from all over the world.
The service is available on both a website dedicated to him as well as the NASA app, which has been redesigned to display the contents of the new service, information regarding missions and even augmented reality models of satellites. The app is available for both iOS and Android and for televisions and set-top boxes (like Apple TV, Roku and Fire TV).
In the NASA+ collection, there are series and programs regarding space and related topics, as well as a collection of historical content, images of rocket launches and documentaries, such as one that portrays the story behind the mission Artemis 1. It is not even necessary to create an account to use the service.
NASA’s chief information officer, Jeff Seaton, highlighted the importance of the new feature to make the agency’s information more accessible and secure. A few months ago, new versions, still in the testing phase, of NASA websites were released, including the organization’s main pagein order to facilitate access to the agency’s data.
It is worth remembering that NASA TV already existed, which broadcasts rocket launches and similar events. With NASA+, however, it will be possible to view this and other content on demand, without the need to watch it live, in addition to there being a multitude of videos in the agency’s collection — including versions in Spanish.
The options are really diverse, from entertainment and fun content involving planets and Emmy award-winning programming to videos dedicated to children, information regarding science, the Solar System and astronomy. There is also access to other NASA resources, such as the collection of more than 21 thousand images, information regarding missions and the Third Rock Radio.
NASA+ is now available through the NASA website and app. Especially if you are a fan of the topic, it’s worth exploring the service’s collection.
