NASA is targeting October 5 for the launch of the Crew-5 mission to the International Space Station

The United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and SpaceX are targeting Wednesday, October 5 for the launch of the Crew-5 mission to the International Space Station ( ISS), according to the latest update from the agency.

Last week, mission teams moved the launch date to this week due to the impact of Hurricane Ian.

The Crew-5 flight to the ISS will carry Nicole Mann and Josh Cassada, two NASA astronauts, as well as Koichi Wakata, astronaut from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, and Anna Kikina, cosmonaut from the Russian space agency Roscosmos .

According to NASA, once the Dragon spacecraft docks with the orbiting lab, four crew members from the Crew-4 mission station will complete their mission and return to Earth just over a week later.

The Crew-4 mission will then undock from the space station and land off the coast of Florida, USA.
