Italian club Napoli have denied the possibility of signing Portuguese international sniper Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United next January.
Napoli, the Italian league leaders, confirmed that it does not suffer from any shortcomings at the moment.
Cristiano Giuntoli, the Napoli sporting director, ruled out any signings of big names or the departure of prominent players in his team, noting that Napoli is confident that he has a strong group of players and is in an appropriate state of balance.
Napoli is looking for its first title in the Italian league since the 1989/1990 season, when the late Argentine legend Diego Maradona led it to the title.
Napoli is currently at the top of the Italian league standings with 29 points from 11 matches and has achieved five consecutive victories in the Champions League.
Ronaldo may leave Manchester in the next winter transfer window, if he receives an offer that suits all parties, in light of his quest to participate in the Champions League.
“We are very far from the market, at the moment we are only thinking regarding daily life, we are constantly trying to improve,” Giuntoli told media group Mediaset.
Regarding Ronaldo, Giuntoli explained, “The January transfer market is for reform, and we don’t have to fix anything, so I really think we’re not going to do anything.”
