The 19-year-old Renato Caiafa, younger brother of Luigi, the young man who was killed in 2020 in a robbery in Naples, had the weapon found and told what happened last night. He would have been the one who handled the gun from which the shot was fired last night at 4am that killed 18-year-old Arcangelo Correra, who died in the morning after his desperate admission to the Vecchio Pellegrini hospital. A crazy “game” and a “misfortune”, a carelessness while showing the stolen weapon, would be the basis of the murder. The two very young people are also related (they are cousins).
The rapid investigations conducted by the agents of the Naples Flying Squad under the orders of the manager Giovanni Leuci immediately led to the identification of the 19-year-old Caiafa, who showed up at the police station, had the gun found and told what happened last night in via dei Tribunali corner Piazza Sedil Capuano, in the historic center of Naples. Now the prosecutor of the Naples Prosecutor’s Office, Ciro Capasso, is evaluating his position before signing a decree arresting a crime suspect. The 19-year-old will end up in prison. Among the charges against the young man are possession and receiving of the weapon, but also the crime of voluntary homicide.

**Interview with Renato Caiafa: Understanding the Tragedy of Arcangelo Correra**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Renato. This has been an incredibly difficult time for you and your family. Can you tell us what happened last night?
**Renato Caiafa:** Thank you for having me. Last night was truly tragic. I was handling a gun that had been stolen as a sort of “game” with my cousin Arcangelo. It was careless, and I never intended for anything bad to happen. In the chaos, the gun went off, and unfortunately, Arcangelo was shot.
**Editor:** This incident seems to stem from a moment of recklessness. What do you think led to this situation?
**Renato Caiafa:** I think it was a combination of being young and foolish. We often don’t realize the seriousness of our actions until it’s too late. We were just being careless, and I can’t express how much I regret that moment.
**Editor:** How are you coping with the aftermath of this incident, both personally and within your family?
**Renato Caiafa:** It’s devastating. Losing Arcangelo, who was so close to me, feels unbearable. My family is heartbroken, and I’m struggling to find the right way to support everyone while dealing with my own guilt. I just hope to learn from this and prevent similar tragedies in the future.
**Editor:** Have you thought about how you will honor Arcangelo’s memory moving forward?
**Renato Caiafa:** Absolutely. I want to dedicate my efforts to raising awareness about gun safety and the consequences of reckless behavior. I hope that by sharing our story, it can help others avoid making the same mistakes we made.
**Editor:** Thank you, Renato, for your openness during this incredibly challenging time. Our thoughts are with you and your family as you navigate through this.
**Renato Caiafa:** Thank you for having me. I appreciate your support.
