Nancy Pelosi on Taiwan despite China threat; It is reported that China has sent a warplane

Beijing: Amid China’s stern warnings, the US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi has reportedly arrived in Taiwan. International media reported that the American plane with Nancy Pelosi, who is visiting Asian countries, landed in Taiwan.

Pelosi said the visit to Taiwan is a sign of America’s unwavering commitment to support Taiwan’s democracy. Our discussions with Taiwan’s leadership are aimed at securing their support and promoting interests, including those of an independent Indo-Pacific region. America’s solidarity with Taiwan’s 23 million people is more important than ever as the world faces the choice between dictatorship or democracy, she said.

China has warned that the United States will pay a heavy price for Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. Chinese Foreign Spokesperson Hua Chunying said that the US must take responsibility for undermining China’s sovereignty and security interests and pay the price.

Nancy Pelosi arrived in Taiwan after visiting Singapore and Malaysia. Taiwan is the first high-ranking US official to visit in 25 years. Pelosi is the representative. Meanwhile, national media reported citing local media that Chinese warplanes had entered Taiwan’s airspace.

The US is in Taiwan, which China considers its territory. The reason for China’s irritation is the visit of the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Zhang Hun, the Chinese ambassador to the UN, said that Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan was too dangerous and provocative. Chinese President Xi Jinping recently warned that America is playing with fire in Taiwan.

However, America’s response was that Pelosi has the right to visit the country of her choice. White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby responded that China does not want such a visit to lead to a conflict, according to long-standing US policies.
