From Wednesday, October 5, the city of Nancy will be animated by the Nancy Jazz Pulsations. On the program: concerts, OFF events… Here is the whole program!
It’s NJP time! Every year, the Nancy Jazz Pulsations festival brings Nancy to life. The story begins in 1973, launched by ” a handful of young people from Nancy wishing to organize a major jazz event in Lorraine “. Forty-nine years later, Nancy Jazz Pulsations has established itself as THE fall rendezvous of the Grand Est.
If jazz is essential for the festival – as its name suggests – the program is eclectic: rock, pop, electronic music, world music… The official website sums it up in one sentence: “ NJP offers all music aficionados a program as cutting-edge as it is popular, ranging from jazz to current music. A recipe that works since each fall, around 100,000 festival-goers come to listen to the programming of IN and OFF.
Several favorites punctuate this program. Starting with the rock evening on Friday, October 7, where we can find Baleine and MNNQNS. The festivities will continue at the “L’autre Canal” room, notably with Helena Hauff, before concluding with a program at the “Magic Mirrors”. On Saturday 8, beyond the expected concerts such as Piers Faccini or Jungle By Night, two Roller Disco sessions will come to animate the sunset, at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
On Tuesday 11, a triple set of Léonie Pernet, Jeanne Added and Triggerfinger will take place at the Chapiteau, a key venue for the festival, at 8 p.m. If you feel like dancing, do not hesitate to continue by going to listen to Lewis Offman at the Magic Mirrors, at midnight. The following day, the Chapiteau will this time host Binker & Moses, Kokoroko and even Snarky Puppy. Until October 15, festival-goers will also be able to find Star Feminine Band, Bernard Lavilliers, Bon Voyage Organisation, Vitalic, Gogo Penguin, Oumou Sangaré and Selah Sue.
Beyond the IN, many OFF events will be organized: concerts in bars and in the town squares, jazz aperitifs in emblematic places of local heritage, nursery celebrations, student concerts, jazz movies, exhibitions, musical readings… So many good reasons to come and (re)discover the city in a new light, at affordable prices!
