What ‌are the ⁢potential underlying causes of violent behavior that Dr. Setiawan believes society should address?

Unraveling the Sandy Permana ‌Case: Insights from a Criminal ‌profiler

We sat down with Dr. Irwan Setiawan, a renowned⁣ criminal profiler and forensic psychologist, to ⁤discuss the recently uncovered escape strategy of Nanang Irawan, the suspect in the tragic ⁢death of⁣ artist ⁣Sandy Permana.‍ Dr. Setiawan ⁤provided expert insights into ⁣the psychological‍ and tactical aspects⁤ of this ‍complex case.

Understanding nanang’s Escape Strategy

Archyde: dr. Setiawan, authorities revealed that Nanang irawan disabled ⁤his mobile phone to evade detection during his escape.⁣ what does this tactic tell us about‌ his ⁤mindset?

Dr. ⁢Setiawan: Disabling his phone was a calculated move to avoid being ⁢tracked. It‌ shows that Nanang had some level ⁣of awareness about modern investigative ⁤methods. However, the sporadic use ‌of his phone also indicates a sense of panic and disorganization. He was torn between‍ staying‍ hidden and maintaining some ⁣form of control over‍ his situation.

Archyde: His wife tried reaching him multiple⁣ times, but he ⁤cut off all communication. Why‍ do you think he⁣ isolated himself?

Dr. Setiawan: Isolation is⁤ a common response in high-stress situations, especially after a violent altercation. ⁢By cutting off⁢ communication, Nanang may have⁢ been trying to distance himself from the immediate consequences of his actions. This also aligns with his claim that he needed‌ time to “calm down,” which suggests he was grappling with guilt ‍or shock.

The Psychology Behind the ⁤Escape

Archyde: Nanang’s movements seemed random, fleeing ⁢to Karawang and even cutting his own hair to avoid recognition. What does⁣ this ⁢randomness‌ reveal about his psychological state?

Dr. Setiawan: ⁤ randomness often indicates a lack of clear planning and heightened emotional distress. Cutting his hair⁢ was a desperate attempt to alter his appearance, showing that he feared being‌ recognized. Such actions are typically driven by fear⁢ and ⁢a sense of being cornered, which‍ can cloud‍ judgment‌ and lead to erratic behavior.

Broader Implications of the case

Archyde: this case‍ has deeply affected the community. Why do cases like this evoke such⁣ strong reactions from the ⁣public?

Dr. Setiawan: Cases involving violence, especially when they result⁢ in the loss of a beloved figure like Sandy Permana, touch on‌ worldwide fears and emotions. They make people question the safety of their communities and the motives behind such acts. The randomness and⁢ brutality of the incident amplify these ‌feelings, leading to‍ widespread shock and a demand ‌for justice.
