Vladislav Namestnikov was traded to the Winnipeg Jets by the San Jose Sharks on Friday for a fourth-round pick in the 2024 draft.
The forward was acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning by the Sharks on Wednesday in return for the forward Michael Eyssimont.

Namestnikov, who signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Lightning on July 13, might become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. The 30-year-old forward had 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 57 games. He has not played any game with the Sharks.
Selected by Tampa Bay in the first round (27th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Namestnikov had 251 points (113 goals, 138 assists) in 610 regular season games with the Lightning, New York Rangers, Ottawa Senators and Ottawa, Colorado Avalanche, Detroit Red Wings and Dallas Stars. He added 11 points (six goals, five assists) in 48 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
This is a second striker acquired by the Jets, who obtained Nino Niederreiter in a trade with the Nashville Predators on Feb. 25. Niederreiter didn’t blacken the scoresheet in his Jets debut on Tuesday, a 6-5 shootout loss to the Los Angeles Kings.
The Jets (35-24-2), who face the Edmonton Oilers on Friday (9 p.m. ET; TSN3, SNW, ESPN+, SN NOW), have lost six of their last seven games and sit fourth in the Central Division , one point behind the Colorado Avalanche and the third echelon. They are the second-fourth ace qualifying for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the Western Conference.
The Sharks (18-32-12) are seventh in the Pacific Division, one point ahead of the Chicago Blackhawks and last in the West.
