Name confirmed and logo revealed

Infinity Ward and Activision have officially confirmed that the next game in the Call of Duty series will be called Modern Warfare 2. The logo was also unveiled.

It was no longer a secret that Activision was working on a sequel to the “Modern Warfare” reboot. In the evening hours, the publisher finally got down to business and confirmed that the new “Call of Duty” would actually be called “Modern Warfare 2”. This name was already used in the 2009 part.

The corresponding logo animation was also published on Twitter. After the clip starts, you’ll hear some voices in the background. In addition, lines can be seen on a kind of topographical map. The sound and other elements probably contain clues that have yet to be deciphered.

The logo of “Modern Warfare 2” consists of the “M”, the “W” and the “II”. There are certain similarities with the logo of the band Nine Inch Nails. You can check out the tweet with the animation below:

Activision confirmed the new shooter earlier this year. And a few days ago, the company added that it was previously “most advanced” part of the series will be. Infinity Ward is responsible for the development. Really meaningful information about “Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2” should follow in the coming weeks.

Modern Warfare 2 is also rumored to be a sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare in terms of content as well, with a story centered on Colombian drug cartels. Sources also say the single-player story is “a harder version of the campaign” from the reboot, with more melee combat, tricky decisions, and classic Call of Duty moments.

More news on the subject:

Activision also emphasized this week that a new “Call of Duty Warzone” is in production and will be unveiled later this year. According to Activision, the title will be developed from scratch in parallel with “Modern Warfare 2”. At the same time, the publisher had to admit that the number of players is dwindling.
