Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Supreme President of the Emirates Society for Genetic Diseases, confirmed that the “Human Genome Project” launched by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in March 2021, is one of the greatest exploration works in history, and an important step in the field of scientific research, in order to Explore “human”.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak said, during his speech at the event of the “Reference Genome Project for Egyptians and Ancient Egyptians” at Expo 2020 Dubai: “The Dubai Expo is an international platform that attracts the masses of those interested in various fields from research bodies, in order to look at hope and the future, to create a better life for generations. The future is through sharing technology and scientific and research development with each other, learning and transferring those different experiences to us.”
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan welcomed the Egyptian attendees, and said: “All greetings and appreciation to the participants in this important Egyptian event, especially Sir Magdi Yaqoub, a global heart surgeon, and his achievements and contributions to humanity and humanity as a whole. We appreciate the mutual and solid brotherly relations between the UAE and the Republic of Egypt.” We have a long history of sharing science and research between the two sides, and the genome project is one of the important research projects, and we always support these sciences in our country in the process of development and creativity.”
He added, “Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, supports science and scientists who attend the Dubai Expo, and we appreciate their efforts, and the importance of this project, which the Egyptian Presidency gives great attention, hopes to provide the best medical solutions and the best treatments for pathogens through a careful study of society.” Al-Masry, and here lies the importance of the Egyptian vision for its support of scientists, which we support and call for the participation of all tireless efforts to support creativity, progress, and scientific and technological development through constructive cooperation between the UAE and Egypt, and facing any challenges in order to reach the creative ideas that such conferences present from within Expo 2020 Dubai to its goals.
The event came under the generous patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, and organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research represented by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, in partnership with the Sheikh Zayed Genetic Research Center of the Emirates Society for Genetic Diseases and in the presence of Hessa bint Issa Bu Humaid, Minister of Community Development, and Sir Professor Magdi Yacoub, a global heart surgeon, Dr. Maryam Matar, founder and president of the Emirates Genetic Diseases Association, Dr. Ismail Serageldin, founding president of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Dr. Mahmoud Saqr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Major General Doctor Khaled Amer, director of the Center for Medical Research and Regenerative Medicine at the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, and the constellation Scholars from the Emirates, Egypt and the United States of America.
