Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Supreme Chairman of the Sheikh Zayed Center for Genetic Research, received the executive team of the national volunteer project “Treasure of Life” 2018-2032.
During the meeting, he was briefed by Dr. Maryam Matar, founder and president of the Emirates Genetic Diseases Association, regarding the impressive results of implementing all the five goals of the project’s founding phase, forming a volunteer professional team that was able to plan and develop an integrated applied strategy, and adopt international initiatives with approved scientific references, concerned with raising awareness, Educating the community regarding the importance of preserving stem cells and their derivatives for therapeutic and preventive uses, within the framework of the approved national governance, and the golden opportunities to enhance the readiness of the infrastructure for those services, in partnership with government and private stakeholders, to serve the national goals of the UAE, in particular the rehabilitation of specialized national cadres, and activating innovation in Research and services sector in the health education sector, creating an effective ecosystem and stimulating medical tourism.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak said: The voluntary initiatives in our beloved country have created an environment of effective partnership among professional groups in civil and governmental society, and have created an official network for knowledge and voluntary professional exchange, which has raised the status of Emirati society in the ranks of developed countries in terms of tolerance, coexistence, and smooth empowerment in all areas. International medical and research schools, with a new vision and an Emirati identity within the framework of international references and accreditations.

He valued the pioneering and sustainable role of the Society and the Center, since its establishment in 2004, in sustainable national voluntary initiatives, which played a pivotal role in creating an integrated environment, with everything concerned with preventive examinations, treatment services, educational programs, research priorities on genetic and hereditary disorders, and regenerative medicine, with the support of the relevant sectors in our beloved country. .
