Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him”, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, witnessed this followingnoon a ceremony honoring the award winners in Its fourteenth session, with the participation of His Excellency Dr. Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Her Excellency Maryam bint Muhammad Saeed Hareb Al Muhairi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, His Excellency Eng. Khaled Al Hanifat, Minister of Agriculture of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Marzouq Al Qaseer, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation in the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Dr. Abu Bakr Omar Al-Bishri, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry in the Republic of Sudan, H.E. Riyad Muhammad Yousef Attari, Minister of Agriculture in the State of Palestine, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Hassan, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of the Syrian Arab Republic, and H.E. Hamad Abdul Razzaq Al-Marini, The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Libya, Eng. Louis Lahoud, representative of the Minister of Agriculture in the Lebanese Republic, Hashem bin Salem, representative of the Tunisian Minister of Agriculture, and Ahmed bin Saleh Ayyad al-Khom Shi, representative of the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Environment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Dr. Abdul Aziz Muhammad Abdul Karim, representative of the Minister of Agriculture of the Kingdom of Bahrain. And all members of the Board of Trustees, winners and honorees of the award and a large crowd of specialists and those interested in palm cultivation, date production and agricultural innovation.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak delivered a speech during the honoring ceremony, in which he indicated his great appreciation for the founder and patron of the award, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him”. He also extended his gratitude, great appreciation and respect to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for his strong support for this award, within the framework of his comprehensive vision, and his strong keenness, for the UAE to always be at the forefront and the vanguard, and thanked His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President The Council of Ministers, Minister of Presidential Affairs, and its great appreciation to His Highness for his great interest in this award, in addition to his strong support for the award’s initiatives, by organizing a series of Arab date festivals, in the United Arab Emirates, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Sudan, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Republic of The Mauritanian Islamic and others…where the success was not limited to organizing festivals, but extended to the rehabilitation of date factories, the establishment of refrigerated refrigerators, and the development of strategies for developing dates in those countries. Guardianship of date palms and agricultural innovation honorable and prestigious role in translating the vision of the leadership in accordance with the best international practices. This represents a significant impact in supporting sustainable development.
For his part, His Excellency Dr. Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), praised in his speech on his behalf Dr. Abdul Hakim Al Waer, Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for the Middle East and North Africa, during the virtual honoring ceremony for the efforts of the United Arab Emirates and the Khalifa Award The International Conference on Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, in supporting and developing the palm cultivation, date production and agricultural innovation sector at the international level.
The honoring ceremony also included the screening of the operetta “Sawari Mansour”, in which the focus was on the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the first supporter of palm cultivation and date production at the national and Arab levels, and how the ship of goodness and giving launched from The United Arab Emirates to the sisterly Arab countries.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak honored His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s representative in the Al Ain region, as the personality of the year for his influential role in the field of palm cultivation and date production. The dates are: Hamid Saeed Al Neyadi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, from the United Arab Emirates. and His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Ayed Al-Duwairi, former Minister of Agriculture, from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Hamed Al Hamid, founder of the Gracia Agricultural Group, from the United Arab Emirates. Thaer Faisal Nofan Al-Adwan, from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. and Dr. Sandra Pesek, from the Republic of Poland. And the late Georges Totan, from the French Republic.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak honored the winners of the award in its fourteenth cycle 2022, as follows: For the distinguished studies and modern technology category for 2022, Dr. Jacquene Julie Emmanuel from the French Republic, Dr. Ibtisam bint Rashid Al Harasiya from the Sultanate of Oman, and for the category of development projects. The pioneering productivity was won by the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination from the United Arab Emirates and the International Center for Local Agriculture from the United Arab Emirates, and the pioneering and advanced innovations for the agricultural sector were won by Dr. Abdullah Hamad Saeed Al-Junaibi from the United Arab Emirates. And engineer Tariq bin Al Bashir bin Abdeen from the United Arab Emirates, and in the category of distinguished personality in the field of date palms and agricultural innovation, Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Saif Al Saadi from the Sultanate of Oman and Eng. Anwar Hilal Abdullah Haddad from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan won it equally.
After that, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak honored the winners of the Distinguished Farmer and Innovative Farmer Award in its fourth session 2022, organized by the General Secretariat of the award in cooperation with Al Foah Company. The second: Aisha Abdullah Juma’a Baharun Al Ali, and in the category of medium-sized farms, he won first place: Mubarak Muhammad Muftah Al Shamsi, and the second place was won: Fatima Muslim Muhammad Al-Khali, and in the category of above-average farms, he won first place: Saif Sayah Salem Al-Mansoori, and he won second place: Salwa Khalfan Humaid Al-Mansoori, and in the large farms category, Saeed Rashid Abdullah Al-Hamoudi won first place, and Matar Ali Moftah Mohammed Al Shamsi won second place, and in the innovative farmer category, Rashid Sultan Hamad Masoud Al-Ariani won.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan also witnessed the signing of twelve memoranda of understanding with a number of agriculture ministers and directors of international organizations in a number of Arab countries, with the aim of strengthening regional and international cooperation between national institutions and international organizations, which contributes to supporting and developing the palm plantation and date production sector. And agricultural innovation at the Arab and international levels, during the ceremony honoring the winners of the prize in its fourteenth session.
