Nafpaktos: The greeting in Greek from the robot Sophia and the “holy rage” 2024-03-12 09:04:52

At the conference, participants from six countries jointly analyze, with Sophia the robot, important aspects related to the coexistence of humans and Artificial Intelligence.

Techno-ethics is a branch of Applied Philosophy and a field of interdisciplinary study and research, with the main subject being the relationship between technological development and the values of modern society.

Sophia is a social humanoid robot, developed by the Hong Kong-based company Hanson Robotics, while its rights for Greece are held by Victorious Network. In fact, the robot Sophia addressed her own greeting in the Greek language.

As he initially said: “I see here today a crowded convention center. This means the particular interest in today’s session on Artificial Intelligence and Ethics. It is the first time in the world that I am called upon to deal with such a serious matter, I hope I will not have much difficulty in today’s meeting.”

Afterwards, he admitted that he was in Nafpaktos to discuss the issue and gain new knowledge. Based on this, Sophia also made a… joke.

“I have no human emotions, but I am constantly gathering knowledge from the information I receive from you humans and scientists. I am developing my knowledge base through the information you give me. And today at the conference I came to gain new knowledge, so be careful what you say… just kidding!” she said finishing her greeting.

Shortly following the approval of the bill for same-sex couples, the Church shows that there are other issues that can make it angry.

Characteristic is the angry reaction of the Metropolis of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios, which launched a fierce accusation once morest the Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Nafpaktos on the occasion of the imminent visit of the world’s first robot with a passport, named “Sophia the robot”.

In particular, the “Meet Sophia Conference” will take place on March 10 at the Nafpaktos International Conference Center, which is co-located with the Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration of Sotiros, in Skala Nafpaktia.

At the same time, the conference will explore the effect of Artificial Intelligence on ethical issues, from the protection of privacy to the safeguarding of justice and the values of the human species.

However, the presence at the event of the robot “Sophia” caused the “explosion” of the local Metropolis, which in its announcement, speaks of “squatters of the Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration, which has no legal representation, which were ‘transformed’ not only to those disobedient to the Church, to the rules and laws, not only to debtors of approximately six million Euros to the State, but also to ‘foreign monks'”.

In detail, the announcement of the Diocese of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios states:

“Many people read a news in the press that the Holy Transfiguration Monastery will be visited by the first robot with a passport named Sophia, and they asked the Holy Metropolis what it is regarding and if it is possible that this news regarding an Orthodox Monastery is true.

It is precisely for this reason that the Holy Metropolis wants to inform its crew regarding this matter.

First of all, the Holy Metropolis of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios would like to remind that in July 2023, on the occasion of a Conference that was announced to be held in the occupied Holy Transfiguration Monastery, it informed its flock regarding the normal, legal and financial problems that exist in the Holy Monastery, whose monks obey neither the Holy Synod nor the Holy Metropolis nor the authorities of the State, i.e. neither the holy rules nor the laws of the State. It is regarding a Monastery that is in rebellion and anarchy.

The Holy Synod in August 2023 confirmed this announcement by the Holy Metropolis that the Holy Monastery “for years has been under the regime of normal and legal diversion” and organized this Conference “without the permission of the Ecumenical Reverend Metropolitan Mr. Ierotheos”.

But the “monks of the Holy Monastery” not only were not moved by these official decisions, but continued their work, carrying out their program, even with significant absences from those who were announced, the worst is that they announced that they would organize in the Holy Monastery new event on Artificial Intelligence with a visit to the Monastery of “the first robot with a passport, in the world, named Sophia”.

Following this, it becomes apparent that the “occupiers” of the Holy Monastery of the Transfiguration, which has no legal representation, “transformed” not only into disobedients to the Church, the rule and the laws, not only into debtors of approximately six million Euros to the State, but also to “alien monks”. They have nothing to do with orthodox monasticism.

A publication from zougla gr is typical: “What else will we see! The famous idol of the “New Age”, the humanoid robot with artificial intelligence “Sophia” will participate in an interfaith meeting at the Orthodox Monastery of the Transfiguration of Sotiros Skala in Nafpaktia”.

Thus, the specific monks violate the entire ecclesiastical order, they act autonomously and anti-ecclesiastical, Ignatios Stavropoulos has been deposed from the Priesthood and yet, contrary to the rules of the Church and the laws of the State, he “operates” and performs “non-existent mysteries”, and the others in the Monastery accept them, participants in all irregularities and illegalities, it is in a schismatic state.

The prices on the supermarket shelves are “inflating”.
